The home of Appian Way...Appian Way Kennels is located in the beautiful Pine River Valley in Bayfield, Colorado. Bayfield is in Southern Colorado between Durango and Pagosa Springs.

We officially started our kennels in February of 2004.

Our dogs are family raised on a full acre and 1/2 with room to work, play, swim and train.

We introduce our dogs to all venues of competition. Please see each dogs' personal page for more information.

Our dogs are raised with our children, horses, cats, goats, ducks and chickens.

We strongly hold true to the belief that our dogs are puppies first and competitors second. This has proven to enable all our dogs to be confident in themselves, have a well balanced temperament, a chance to build a relationship with us as handlers and enjoy all areas of competition while still maintaining a strong work ethic with a lot of drive and ambition. Our dogs are an important part of our family!

Alicia woth one of her horses

Our daughter Alicia, who is 16, is involved in 4-H, AQHA and Hunter/Jumpers with her horses, Peppy & Charlie.

She has always been involved with our animals and is proving to be my "right-hand man".

Caleb and Rose

Our son Caleb, age 9, is in charge of the ducks, chickens, and his prized show dairy goats.

He has started in Jr. Conformation and agility with "his" choice of breed; Chihuahuas. You can access his own page of CH Chihuahuas in the near future.

He is the official puppysitter.

Appian Way Australian Shepherds sells all show puppies with written and signed show and health contracts, guaranteeing the pups against hereditary defects.

All puppies sold as pets must be spayed or neutered at sexual maturity, and will be registered with "Not for Breeding".

Thank you for your interest in our site. Enjoy looking around and feel free to contact us at any time.
